Letter from Kevin Begos to The Kitchen About “The Transmission” (excerpted transcription)

[The following is a partial transcription of a letter of Dec. 1, 1992, faxed from the publisher of Agrippa to The Kitchen in New York City (one of the venues of “the transmission”).]

Fax to David Leslie

Dear David,

[ . . .] Gibson is not available to be in Wyoming for transmission because he’s swamped finishing his new book.

I am streamlining each site to the simplest possible production. This will involve:

– The availability of a cassette recording of Penn Jillette reading Agrippa off a scrolling screen. He may also be available for a live patched in reading via phone that night, but the quality will be poorer and he cannot guarantee that.

– You will have discs of Agrippa which operate like any normal application. The texts scroll at a pre-set speed and self destruct at the end, but otherwise they are very normal.

– Hardware requirements are at least an apple si, ci, or powerbook, with a least 3 megs of RAM. Depending on your plans and equip. availability you can patch up display option to suit.

– I should be able to get you everything by friday, though most sites are doing tests the next mon/tues
